I can't afford to hire a decorator...

So, I need your advice. On my never ending quest to have a least the downstairs completely decorated, the dining room is almost done. I need window treatments. And artwork. And Maybe paint. So here are a few options....

Just a reminder of what it looks like now.

Option #1: I'm thinking these Pottery Barn drapes with this Williams Sonoma rug. It would flow well with the kitchen and living room.

Option #2: These William Sonoma Wide Stripe Drapes with a Seagrass/Sisal/Jute rug.

This option would also flow well with the open concept we've got going downstairs.

Option #3: Uses the same rug, but adds a lot more color with these Audrey drapes from Pottery Barn.

I feel like they would looks really good with the blue shutters.

BUT...do they go with the living room and the kitchen? Which option do you guys like best? #1, #2, or #3? Thanks!

Option #3! THOSE curtains with YOUR shutter would be amazing! It is still neutral enough to blend with other rooms too! Good luck!

Definitely the Pottery Barn drapes!! If I'm not mistaken, the rug in the living room has some pretty aqua in it, so it wouldn't be a stretch to make it work and the kitchen is neutral, so the bit of color in the dining room would be perfect!

Beautiful Dining Room! You have great taste! I have to go with #1. Love the punch of color in the rug and I have to tell you, I bought drapes from Pottery Barn for my living room and they are gorgeous. Everytone always comments on them. Yes, they weren't cheap, but I think it's worth the investment.

BTW, how cute is your blog?! Loving it! And so glad you "stumbled" on mine! So looking forward to getting to "know" you better and reading more. :)

Right now I am all about cheap curtains. Do something with drop clothes at your hardware store, buy the clips and clip them up for curtains. They look great, did in my Family Room. Also, cheap white cotton sheets, wash, don't iron, they look great crinkled and clip at the top and hang. Currently in my DR and Mbrm.

Yep, they go. I like things that aren't too "matchy".....they coordinate.....and flow well.

LOVE those Audrey drapes. Go for it!

Hi there.
I am new here, but I'm gonna throw in my 2 cents anyway. Let me start by saying that I think that your dining room is FABULOUS!!! now. If you are dead set on changing it though ;), I think I would go with #3. The seagrass would be just wonderful for texture, (although maybe not food droppings) and the drapes would add great interest.
I'm off to check out the rest of your home.

I think any of them would look great, but I love the 3rd option. And I think the colors in them would relate to your den rug (doesn't it have blues in it?) But then again, I like a little pattern sometimes. I have those Bettina PB drapes in our DR. Can't wait to see what you decide!!

LOVE the pottery barn drapes (#1 & #3) but....not really in love with either of the rugs! Not sure. I love the first rug, but maybe for upstairs in the nautical-ish loft? I don't know. :(

I love the PB curtains #3

I have ones like #1 from Restoration Hardware and they hang really nice and give the room a good feel.

I vote option two! The first seems a little bland for your style. Yeah, the rug has stripes but ya want something that jumps out at ya right away. I love the stripe curtains.

all are beautiful options but I think #3 is my favorite because it adds some more pattern to the room... Would be beautiful with your shutters.

Did you already make a decision on these??

Option 1 and 2 would both be beautiful, but "safe". Option #3 would be WOW!!!! that's my vote.
