I just bought these Pottery Barn standard pillow shams on ebay yesterday at a great price. I happened to look at the listing again and I realized that they are monogrammed with the letters DTK. Might as well be WTF cause I didn't see it! What am I going to do with pillow that say DTK!? Do you think I can put a needle through the thread and pull it out? Gawd. I feel so stupid!

Bummer, If you try and take it off with a seam ripper it might leave little holes. I'm a cover-upper, and that has fixed some of my past mistakes, maybe something could go over it. a white ruffled rosette? Good luck, Theresa
I totally think you can cover it up! You might be able to pick the threads out but I would try just one or two first. I agree with Theresa you might end up with a bunch of little holes.
Y0ou WTF line was funny! Only because I could see myself doing the same thing!
I agree this your other commenters. I would cover up. The ruffled rosettes sound great and ruffles seem to be everywhere today.
BTW, my daughter had me make a crazy quilt pillow for a Christmas gift for her best friend, it was covered with stitches, a lot of personal things that have meaning only between the two of them. One thing I stitched, much like a monogram where the letters WTF.......It was just a little inside joke. She loved it
You can totally pull out the monogrammed initials. You are not alone on the "oops" ebay purchase....
Heeheee.. I'm laughing not at you, but for the same thing I've done too. Glad to see you've joined 'our club'.. (wink wink)
Why not pull the stitching out and add a lovely made silk rose or burlap rose. With your talent, I'm sure you'll solve this wee issue.
with love,
Olivia
I have done that before on ebay with other things. I hate it. Makes me regret that they have a no return policy. Good luck on the fix!!
I got a good chuckle out of this. Sounds like something I would do. Try a seam ripper. The sharp point will help.
Find a contrasting fabric and find a "monogram" kiosk in your local mall and have them do a monogram on your coordinating fabric...then sew the new monogram over the existing "mistake" monogram. You can have the new monogram done with a "frame" so that you can trim it near the frame and sew it directly over the old one. Hope this helps, R
